While it is against the law to attack someone else the law does hold the position that it is acceptable to defend yourself against someone else. For self defense to be justified the individual must believe they are in danger of being immediately hurt by the other individual. In addition the amount of force used to fight back must only be enough to prevent that danger.

Women are often at the mercy of men because they are stronger when it comes to being the victim. Sometimes it is by someone they know and other times it is from a complete stranger. The question that comes into play is when are the actions of the man enough to justify self defense from the woman.

Should the stand up to the problem immediately and let it be well known they won't tolerate the behavior? Others believe it is only after the man has touched the woman inappropriately that she has the right to engage in self defense. Many women find that kicking a man in the nuts is definitely enough to get a clear message across. Is this measure self defense or an act of violence?

The debate on this one is very heated. For example some individuals believe that if a woman goes to a bar without a man to protect her she gets what she gets. If she doesn't want men hitting on her then she needs to go home and drink in private. On the flip side of that coin are those women who believe they should be able to go anywhere they want without being harassed by men. If they tell them they want to be left alone that should be the end of the conversation.

There are some situations though where women have to use any line of self defense they can. If that includes kicking a man in the nuts then so be it. Some of these situations include domestic violence, being raped, kidnappings, and being mugged. Most men will fall to their knees when kicked there no matter what weapon they hold or how buff they are. It can offer the woman time to get away and seek help from the situation.
