When it comes to being able to defend yourself against an attacker the sky is the limit. You should never stop to question your tactics or where you are hitting them, just keep on doing it. There are some good areas to aim for though including the face, throat, ears, and the groin. If the individual has you in close proximity do all you can to claw at their face. You can scratch them, poke their eyes, put your fingers in their nose, anything that is going to get to let go of you for a moment and try to defend their face. If they only let go of you with one hand then go for other areas. You can scratch at their throat but it will be more effective if you give them a good solid punch there instead. While this tactic can result in the perpetrator suffering damage to their esophagus or trachea you shouldn't be concerned. The amount of pressure you place there will hopefully take them by surprise and result in them letting you go. It will only take a few moments before they are gasping for air, and that will likely make them panic. Many people don't realize how painful it can be to have your ears tormented. You can get to your perpetrator by scratching, pinching, or even biting at the ears. This is a good option if you are picked up and thrown over their shoulders. Women learn early in life that hitting a man in the groin area can lead to extreme pain. It may be something they learn by accident when they see someone get hit there. Others are taught by their mothers and teachers to hit an attacker there and then run as fast as you can. While this definitely is a good method of self defense it is one that everyone is aware of. That includes the attacker so they will most likely be expecting it. If possible use at least one of the other self defense moves listed here so you can kick them in the groin when they aren't expecting it. Men who are the victim of an attack by another man can try this technique as well. Men usually aren't expecting a kick in the groin to come from another male. It is important to learn effective ways to defend yourself in these types of situations. While you may be able to use different weapons for self defense you can't always count one them being available. If you are caught off guard there is no way you can access them. Learning ways to defend yourself using your body can provide you with the ability to reduce the severity of such incidents. Take the time to practice the techniques you learn on a regular basis so you can put them into action when it will really make a difference. Don't depend on one technique to take care of the situation. As long as you have the element of surprise you have the upper hand. Keep the different self defense techniques coming and your perpetrator will not know what has come his way. The moment you are able to get yourself free run for help. Leaving scratches on the face, arms, throat, and ears of the perpetrator will mean there is plenty of evidence to give away the struggle you were in. There is no way the perpetrator can pretend they weren't involved with such evidence. Even if they aren't caught at the time of the incident it will likely take several days for such injuries to heal completely. If you have caused damage to the throat area the perpetrator will likely end up getting caught when they show up at the doctor's office or the emergency room for treatment. |
