How to safeguard your kids or prevent kidnapping
Nothing is more important than the safety of your family and yourself. Kids are generally an easy target for bad-minds.

What triggers a criminal?
Kids can be an easy tartget for some criminals because they are vulnerable, cannot fight back and less likely to protect themselves. Some criminals do it for excitement and to express their power (murderers, rapists etc.) while others do it for a ransom. There is yet another dreaded category who kidnap a child, handicap & set them as beggars or for prostitution. Scary ?

Here is a short checklist that you can use to ensure the safety of your child:

  • Give some time to your child and explain him the safety measures clearly in such way that he can understand. Being paranoid is good; remember the saying and a book ‘Only the paranoid survive’. Make your child aware of the consequences.
  • Try to never leave your child unattended, however short term it be. Understand your child well; explain him to report any unusual approach of anybody which made him uncomfortable.
  • Be alert to any person of an older age paying extra attention to your child or offering gifts.
  • Insist your child to return home before a certain time (curfew point!!).
  • Keep information about the whereabouts of your child so you always know where to look for first. Try to know every place he visits and his route to school and friends’ homes.
  • Keep a handy list of names and phone numbers of your child’s friends and other places he visits.
  • Help your child understand to keep safety measures. They should avoid potent danger, e.g. stay away from dark, unlit, and remote areas. They should try keep away from unusual strangers.
  • Also they must know how to tackle these situations, when to cry, shout, and run as fast as they can.
  • Parents should never attach their names on visible places like clothing, lunchboxes etc. Don’t allow your kids to sell materials door-to-door, even for fundraisers.
  • Keep a current photograph of your children ready so you are ready if any need arise for fast measures. Time is most critical at these circumstances; any delays would give the culprit more time to hide himself.

If you need to hire baby sitters, do make sure you:

  • Obtain a complete background check of the Person here
  • Give unexpected visits to your home without informing.
  • Make sure they understand the above safety guidelines, and also not to let anybody other than you handle the child. There can be some fakers who can take advantage of your absence.
  • After the baby sitter has left ask the child how did it go and other things which happened in your absence.

We understand that family’s safety is first priority. By adhering to these guidelines you can make sure your kids stay safe. Make sure that every member of the family understand and follow the safety guidelines.
