I was a victim of identity theft back in 2003. My credit card and SSN were pilfered off from the internet. My credit card balance has never gone over than $900 and out of the blue it went over $9000! I escalated the charges issue with the bank and they gave me the benefit of the doubt. As a safety measure, I raised this up also to the 3 credit bureaus and placed a flag on my credit card account. Charged to experience, never ever fill up a form asking for your personal information especially your date of birth and/or SSN.
