One in 10 Aussies victims of ID theft E-mail
The SMH has reported that almost 2 million Australians have been the victims of Identity theft. The findings have prompted the online users' lobby group Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) to call for a tightening of privacy laws. A newspoll report also found that 65 per cent of Australians were more concerned about providing details online than in hard copy format and 25 per cent said they gave false information in online forms as a way of protecting their privacy.
