But it isn't quite so black and white and 1+1 may not always equal 2, when it comes to cheating. You must be aware and alert of your partner's actions in order to catch a cheat. Have you caught your partner lying to you?
A big factor in figuring out if your partner is cheating on you is finding out if your partner lies to you. Lying and infidelity obviously go hand in hand. If you catch your partner straight out lying to you, the possibility of their infidelity may come into the picture. But hold your horses; just because you catch your partner lying to you one time about that extra beer in the fridge that 'disappeared', doesn't automatically mean that you've got an unfaithful partner on your hands. Let's not jump to conclusions as well. We want to make observations that are not so much swayed by our own inner emotions and vulnerabilities. Seek out details
If you do catch your partner lying, quite ironically, these liars may be quite consistent with their stories or scheduled activities. But you can still get through their concocted stories. It's important to seek details when you question
your partner or spouse about their stories. If they say that went to a certain area, then you may reply "Is that the area near the central garden and the beautiful flowers?" Once they agree with something that you just concocted yourself for the sake of checking, then you can definitely be suspicious.
Pay attention to Body Language
Body language can also reveal a lot. If you notice that your spouse is motioning in ways which conceal one's eyes or face while they are talking to you, this is a sign of untruthfulness. Studies have also shown that people may tend to start rubbing their eyes or conceal their mouth while telling a lie. A cheater does not want to look straight at you while he/she is lying about it. Yawning as well has been included as a body clue of a lie. So has crossing one's arm (which is a defensive position) or fidgety movements.
If your partner becomes quite aggressive in answering your questions or even defensive, this is also suspicious.
