The United States Department of Justice Order 556-73 permits a subject to obtain one's own copy of an FBI Identification Record for personal review. It is actually a division of the FBI known as the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) which handles requests of this nature. You must give a reason for request, which may be for your own review or in order to contest to any information which you deem incorrect on the Record. Work in Foreign Countries and International Adoption Copies of one's FBI Identification Record may also be required for work in foreign countries or for international adoption.
