Public criminal records have received a great deal of attention lately, mainly due to the fact that the popularity of the internet has made it much easier for the average American to search for information on any subject that they desire. There are many business and personal reasons why an individual may want to research public criminal records and decisions made after that point depends on the accuracy of the information that they have obtained.

There are several different categories that public criminal records may fall into. The most easily accessed public criminal records are those for events that have happened at the local level.
